Years ago I read Maureen Murdock's rather New Age book on "The Heroine's Journey." I was terribly disappointed, I had been expecting a female focused version of Joseph Canmpbell's "Hero with a Thousand Faces." but discovered myself reading a lot of New Age preaching and psychotherapy.
